introduced a great motivator to me in an email.  I had never heard of him before and his name seemed strange at the time.  Now it is his quotes that I go to when I need something to get me going or, at least, get me to smile.  Who is he? His name is Zig Ziglar.

Unfortunately Zig Ziglar died November 28, 2012 at the age of 86 from pneumonia.  His daughter, Julie Ziglar Norman, stated that, “ Zig was one of the grandfathers of the encouragement and motivation movement and that his gift is taking great ideas and putting them in simple terms with a great analogy.”
Zig Ziglar was the author of more than two dozen books on salesmanship and motivation. As Alan Duke (CNN) stated, “He spread his message of positive attitude, motivation, and success through stories punctuated with short quotes that became legendary. Also Tony Griffin, the executive director of Zig Ziglar Center for Ethical Leadership mentioned that,” His incredible positive outlook of life and ability to motivate people are inspirations.”
Below I have put together some of the quotes from Zig Ziglar.  These are the ones I enjoy to read and think about. They get me going and they make me smile.
Here are some great Zig Ziglar  quotes:
If you can dream it, you can achieve it.
Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the “gotta have it” scale.
I believe that being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life.
You can’t truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles.
People don’t buy for logical reasons. They buy for emotional reasons.
You cannot climb the ladder of success dressed in the costume of failure.
You do not pay the price of success, you enjoy the price of success.
People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.
You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.
A goal properly set is halfway reached.
Statistics suggest that when customers complain, business owners and managers ought to get excited about it.
The complaining customer represents a huge opportunity for more business.
People who have good relationships at home are more effective in the marketplace.
Success is dependent upon the glands – sweat glands.
Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street.
Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
Remember that failure is an event, not a person.
ZIG ZIGLAR  really knew how to say things like a regular guy.  You don’t have to think about it much. It is right there in your face telling you what you should be doing.  It is like a spur to the south side of a horse going north.  Instead of “north”, maybe I should say “nowhere”.
